 
The 600 is a small car, designed by Dante Giacosa
(1905-1996), that was presented in the Geneva Show Car of
1955.
Dante Giacosa was a noted and famous Italian engineer
that worked for the FIAT.
When they asked Dante Giacosa of which it of their cars
was more proud,he answered without doubting it, "of
the 600."
This car was an utilitarian vehicle, with rear engine and
four comfortable seats.
In Spain first was imported some units, but soon the
factory S.E.A.T. began the own production on the base of the Italian
model, creating a mythical car: the 600.
From the agreement with FIAT, 800,000 units were produced
in the factory of the Zona Franca from Barcelona.
Manufactured up to 1973, it was the utilitarian more
popular and it was directed to motorize to the Spanish
middle class, that not could buy another more luxurious
vehicle, also coming from the agreement FIAT-SEAT: the
model 1400.
The forecasts of sales were quite optimistic, but the
success reached any overcame expectation.
The 600 is a vehicle with 633 c.c. rear engine with a
power of 21.5 CV to 4,500 rpm , with a maximum speed of
95 Km/h.
In 1957 began to the sale in Spain with the price of U$D
460, amount that was necessary to pay with cash. Today it
would be a price approximate of about U$D 13,300.
The first unit left from the factory of
the Zona Franca from Barcelona May 27 of 1957, with the
number 100-106-400.001.
The 600 was manufactured in diverse models, such like the
commercial, the convertible, the formicheta, etc.
This group of enthusiasts found the CLUB AMICS DEL 600-
BARCELONA 1997, in order to impede that this car
disappears, and maintain the memory of as extraordinary
vehicle of which practically all the Spanish families
they have possessed any unit.

 The new CLUB AMICS DEL
600-BARCELONA 1997 was born in January of 1997.
A group of enthusiasts of this car, they decide to create
a club in order to gather to owners of 600, called also
SEITAS, that they have conserved these cars with great
esteem.
Between the founders of the club, there is who possess
more than one unit, who have conserved more than 35 years
their 600 and use it today for working.
Also there is enthusiasts waiting for in order to buy an
unit.
Between us there is diversity and plurality.
As for the vehicles, we have them of all the types, from
the models of first series to the last that they were
built.
We wanted that unites us but lovers of the 600, that want
to conserve them and maintain the history of this
extarordinary car.
